URUP is a professional partnership that mentors, trains and supports individuals in the various phases of real estate development. As a professionally-diverse coalition, we have the mutual interest to share knowledge across various industries and develop a sustainable organizational structure that will have the capacity to complete successful development projects with maximum social impact.
As we are all aware, vacant properties depress real estate values, attract crime, and threaten the social and environmental wellbeing of neighborhoods. Our current 5-10 year business goals are to rehabilitate vacant properties, while providing opportunities for those underrepresented in real estate development, youth mentorship experiences, leadership development, wealth creation, and engagement for minority contractors, vendors and consultants.
Through our social impact work, we collaborate with existing communities to determine their needs and provide the best mutual outcome for all parties. From our synergy with JDT International, we are currently involved in the design and development of various single-family residences, multi-family residences and mix-used developments.
Provide exposure and project engagement to individuals currently underrepresented in the field of real estate development.
Develop generational wealth and provide an opportunity for proteges to invest and become stakeholders in development projects.
Provide meaningful engagement and development within neighborhoods to create sustainable communities.

Jeffrey Tubbs has always believed in giving back to the community through his business and charitable endeavors. In 2008, Tubbs founded Urban Roots, with the mission to enhance real estate development projects through youth mentoring, community engagement, and public art.
In 2018, Urban Roots merged with Make the World Better Foundation (MTWB) after 4 years of collaboration which resulted in multiple transformative park revitalization projects.
Today, Tubbs continues to take on socially impactful development projects and has created an apprentice program, Urban Roots Unites Partners (URUP), providing employment and equitable ownership in projects for underrepresented individuals.
